About the Role
ABC Legal is looking for a Lawyer (Acquisitions & Production) to provide legal advice to the ABC on all aspects of its operations 16 hours per week across four days. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced media and entertainment lawyer with carer responsibilities to return to this field.
You will:
- Under the guidance of Team Leader, Acquisitions & Production manage files across the full range of the practice of Legal Services, with particular emphasis on contract for the production and acquisition of content for the television, radio and online services of the ABC.
- Draft and negotiate a range of contracts including for the production and acquisition of content for the television, radio and online services of the ABC.
- Provide advice on complex legal issues, including in relation to copyright and intellectual property issues relevant to production of content.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts.
About You
You will have at least 4 years experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements, with a focus on intellectual property and legal qualifications. You will be admitted as a solicitor for a minimum of 4 years.
You will also have:
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property law
- Ability to balance competing priorities and exercise good judgement
- Ability to work with managers at all levels
- Strong personal commitment to meeting the legal requirements of the Corporation
