The Firm
This small accounting firm is one of the Sunshine Coast’s leading independently owned, commercial and residential finance broking groups. It is part of a wider national franchise group with locations spanning Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Led by one principal, the firm provides a complete range of Commercial, Asset and Home Finance.
The Role
The firm is seeking an in-house senior legal counsel to assist in their day-to-day running, as well as provide advice to clients. You will work across the board on a variety of general matters such as family law, conveyancing, dealings with the Australia Tax Office and debt collection. The firm is hoping to find a suitable candidate who will work part-time. You will be the only solicitor in the office, however will receive assistance from a part-time paralegal.
Some of your duties will include:
- Management and delivery of all conveyancing
- Preparation of contracts
- Franchising agreements
- Private rulings
- Compliance to all contractual obligations across all projects
- Small claims and disputes, including insurance claims and debt recovery actions
- Liaison with support staff
- Conducting research and document searches
- Ad hoc legal work
The Individual
The firm is seeking a solicitor who will be in charge of all legal work across a broad range of matters.
Specifically, a suitable candidate will possess:
- A current Queensland Principal Practising Certificate, or in the process of obtaining one
- Previous experience in a suburban/ small legal firm
- Any in-house work will be beneficial, however not necessary
- The ability to manage different types of issues across a broad range of general matters
- Excellent teamwork & communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- The ability to work independently without any assistance
