The Role
Honan Insurance Group is much more than a leading insurance group; we’re agile, focused on innovation and determined to partner with our customers and markets to provide new products and solutions. Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, this key leadership position has 100% responsibility for Honan’s internal legal risk and advisory requirements.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft, review and negotiate legal contracts relating to joint ventures, distributors, licensing, trade-marks, confidentialities, technology and other commercial agreements.
- Advise on contractual, human resource, litigation and transactional legal risk exposures.
- Maintain key relationships with external legal advisory experts.
- Oversee complex liability and professional indemnity claims across a range of industries and disciplines.
- Continually enhance the legal advisory capability across multi-jurisdictional business environments.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team to support the strategic direction of the group.
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in providing legal advice either in-house or as an external advisor. You will have a strong understanding of AFSL obligations and the financial services sector more broadly. You will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, demonstrating you can operate at the most senior level.
