As a growing and industry-recognised firm located in the heart of the CBD, our client is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to assist firm-wide in a float capacity. Providing assistance across litigation and transactional practice areas, confidence with court processes and document management is essential.
This role will require a flexible approach and would best suit someone who assimilates into new environments easily and is a fast learner. This firm uses Open Practice legal software and LawDocs for precedents management.
Duties will include:
• Diary management and making appointments;
• Opening and closing files;
• Screening incoming calls;
• Liaising with clients and third parties;
• Drafting correspondence (emails and letters);
• Preparing court forms and legal documents;
• Dictation typing;
• Preparing briefs to Counsel;
• Filing documents (online and in-person);
• Time recording and billing;
• Archiving and filing; and
• Ad hoc tasks as required.
Required skills:
• Minimum 5 years’ legal experience;
• Confidence with the litigation process;
• Strong computer and typing skills;
• Ability to pick things up quickly;
• Friendly, team-focused approach; and
• Flexible, can-do attitude.
