What will you be doing?

As the Disputes Resolution Officer, you will:

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and stakeholders
• Defend of travel insurance and private health insurance matters that escalate externally to the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Financial Services and Complaints Ltd and the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman
• Have exceptional time management skills to ensure that disputes are resolved within regulatory timeframes
• Become a trusted adviser to the travel and medical claims business, and the overseas student health care business
• Implement initiatives to reduce the number of disputes received
• Finalise assigned IDR disputes, FOS and PHIO matters within prescribed timeframes  and in accordance with the General Insurance Code of Practice, all relevant legislation, policies and procedures (both external and internal).
• Ensure all records in relation to IDR, FOS and PHIO matters are maintained on a daily and accurate basis.

What makes a successful Disputes Resolution Officer?

• Previous experience in conflict resolution including, but not limited to, investigating and resolving disputes though negotiation

·Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy wording to situations that deliver a fair and reasonable resolution to a dispute, balancing customer and business outcomes

• Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

·Ability to establish priorities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and exercise sound judgement applying relevant underlying legal principles and policy interpretations.
