The role
 
You will work with motivated and supportive partners, assisting in strengthening the construction and infrastructure practice.
 
This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of construction disputes for clients in both the private and public sectors on a range of matters including defect, strata and contract disputes, security of payment and commercial litigation for construction sector participants.
 
The partners are seeking a Senior Associate who is able to work well with both clients (with whom you will have direct contact) and to mentor junior lawyers in the group.  You will be provided the opportunity to  run matters from instruction through to conclusion including some appearance work.
 
The partners have no expectation that you will bring work with you and they will support your desire to grow your practice into areas of interest to you.  You will be provided with opportunities and support to develop your profile.
 
Your skills and experience
 
Ideally, you will have at least 7 years PAE and possess a solid background in back end construction work acting for both public sector and private sector clients. 
 
You must be familiar with practice and procedure in all NSW courts and NCAT and be comfortable acting for both plaintiffs and defendants, including in multi-party actions.  The role requires you to be able to draft pleadings and evidence to a high standard, work with experts, manage all pre-hearing stages and instruct counsel at hearings.  Ideally you will have experience preparing both applications and responses for Security of Payment adjudications, including submissions and evidence.

You will be a self-starter, demonstrate excellent communication skills and drive.  You will possess exceptional drafting skills, strong commercial sense, enjoy a busy work environment and a collaborative work culture.
