About the role

An excellent opportunity exists for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the NAB Asset Management Legal Team.  You will advise and provide support to the NAB Asset Management business across all areas of its operation including financial services regulation, product establishment, disclosure, marketing and distribution.

As Senior Legal Counsel your responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice on all aspects of registered managed investment schemes, wholesale funds and other products (including IDPS, SMAs and MDAs) including design, establishment, operation, changes, restructures and distribution to a range of stakeholders including due diligence committees, trustees, responsible entities, fund managers, service providers and management
• Preparing and reviewing scheme constitutions, compliance documents, product disclosure statements, information memoranda, investment management agreements, distribution agreements, platform service agreements and leading due diligence processes
• Providing advice on relevant regulatory change impacts and regulatory interpretation

About you

You are a highly motivated individual with a strong sense of professionalism who strives to consistently provide high quality, commercially relevant legal services.  In addition, you will have:

• The ability to provide risk based, practical and commercial advice
• A pro-active, agile mindset and strong problem solving and influencing skills
• The ability to build successful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
• The ability to navigate through ambiguity and complex situations
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• A minimum of 7 years PQE, with extensive experience in managed funds and financial services regulation preferably gained as an in-house counsel or with a leading law firm
• A Bachelor of Laws and be admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) and have a current Practising Certificate
