Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Compliance will oversee the whole program with responsibilities including:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Compliance will oversee the whole program with responsibilities including:
- Managing the company's Compliance Department and a small team of compliance professionals;
- Providing regular legal and compliance advice to the board of directors about financial services related matters;
- Reviewing the company's compliance with laws and regulations and reporting back to the board of directors;
- Working closely with external legal counsel in handling inquiries from ASIC and other regulators;
- Overseeing the company's internal and external dispute resolution process; and
- Helping manage and continuously improve the company's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing program.
Who are they looking for?
Apart from your extensive experience in Compliance within Financial Services or Insurance, our client is also focussed on finding someone with the right "culture fit". As this role manages a small team in Melbourne, you must be seen as a dynamic and innovative leader.
Someone who has legal practice experience (either In-House or PP) will be preferred, along with proven experience in compliance, internal auditing, regulatory, disputes, investigations and systems/frameworks.
