The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

As a Notifications Officer/Investigator, you will assess and investigate concerns that have been raised about the health, conduct or performance of registered health practitioners. You will be a highly organised person with a professional and positive attitude who is able to work quickly and effectively in a high volume environment. 

This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Previous applicants need not re-apply.

In this role you will:

  • Plan and conduct assessments and investigations into notifications concerning health professionals’ impairment, performance or conduct under the National Law
  • Request, obtain and analyse relevant information relating to the notification
  • Interview relevant parties and draft high quality witness statements relevant to investigations
  • Prepare concise and accurate correspondence, to advise the notifier and registrant of Board outcomes

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (ie. legal, health or regulatory field);
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of investigations or case management
  • Ability to apply legislation, policies and procedures in a regulatory environment;
  • Ability to exercise judgment and resolve issues independently
  • Well developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to build productive working  relationships;
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines while having strong attention to detail.

This role has an attractive base salary of $97,109
