The main volume of work comprises business structuring, personal and corporate insolvency and reconstruction, commercial agreements and commercial dispute resolution.

About the role

Reporting to the principal, this role is a varied and pivotal to the efficiency of daily work flow covering 2 Solicitors. You would be responsible for:

  • Direct client liaison and incoming enquiries
  • Administration duties including complex correspondence
  • Secretarial and para legal duties
  • Preparation of legal documents
  • Transcription of legal, commercial and litigation documents
  • Communication with government agencies
  • Liaison with courts and law firms
  • Maintenance of the file management system
  • Management of office procedures and workflow systems

There is a gym and yoga classes, which are both near the office. This is a six-month contract position with a possibility of ongoing work should the business require. This role is an immediate start.

Skills and experience

As the successful applicant, you would be familiar with business structuring, litigation, insolvency and reconstruction. Additional requirements include:

  • 3 years exposure within a law firm in Australia
  • Understanding of commercial law
  • Professional personal presentation
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Mature attitude and high levels of empathy
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Experience with document management systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to multitask and have a 'hands on' attitude
