LEGAL EXECUTIVE

T Lawyers Pty Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Legal Executive with excellent attention to details and organisation skills to join our practice.

This is a full time position and your key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, advising and interpreting Australian and Vietnamese contracts (property, business), mortgage and loan documents or other security documents
• Ensuring that loan and mortgage documents are compliant with the relevant Australian and/or Vietnamese laws, regulations and codes
• Assisting the Solicitors in the preparation for court hearing
• Preparing and filing court documents, including but not limited to affidavits, claims and statement of claims, defences, etc
• Conducting negotiation on behalf of clients and/or solicitors in both English and Vietnamese
• Interviewing and communicating with clients in both English and Vietnamese
• Managing conveyancing and other legal files
• Preparing all Titles Registry forms for registration
• Assessment and lodgement of stamp duty (including appeals and re-assessment)
• Conducting searches and due diligence investigations
• Drafting correspondence
• Providing training to other employees in areas of Vietnamese commercial and banking laws
• Supervising and training legal secretaries and law clerks
• Limited travel to Vietnam to meet and liaise with clients on company business (if necessary)
• Other tasks as required under the supervision of a Solicitor

To qualify you must:

• Be degree qualified in either a Bachelor of Law or a Bachelor of Business (must have completed Contract or Commercial Law subject);
• Have at least 3 years experience in a law firm or other professional organisation working closely with contracts and mortgage documents;
• Possess written and verbal proficiency in English at a competent level;
• Experience and familiar with Vietnam's Commercial and Banking Laws;
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
• Be able to work independently and in a team;
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
• Have a client service focus.

Demonstrated experience and skills in negotiations will be highly regarded.
