An exciting opportunity has become available for a Legal Project Manager to join DLA Piper Australia, based in Perth on a 12 month fixed-term basis. (Interstate travel may be required from time to time).
Reporting to the Head of Legal Project Management, the Legal Project Manager will champion and execute a range of initiatives across Australia. Working with the central management team to establish a localised project management capability, the Legal Project Manager will work closely with the lead partners and their teams to co-ordinate efforts to meet client needs and deliver to the timescales defined and agreed.
A key focus in this role will be to champion and support the use of technology solutions that assist the effective delivery of legal solutions to clients. Whilst supporting a large multi-jurisdictional matter, this role is expected to operate within the wider LPM team and support the building of the Australian LPM capability
Through successful partnering with legal teams, Marketing and Finance departments, the Legal Project Manager will also assist with client development including pitching support; enhancing both matter and client profitability and providing innovative solutions to our clients.
This is a unique opportunity to implement significant change, by focusing on client service and process innovation, to increase efficiency and improve team performance.

- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience leading projects and strategic initiatives
- Experience of legal project management preferred but not essential
- Having worked "client side" is an advantage but not essential;
- Customer focussed with desire to improve working practices;
- Analytical and strategic mind set;
- Demonstrated ability in utilising a range of technology tools;
- Financially aware and numerate;
- Collegiate and team based approach;
- Strong communication skills;
- An ability to quickly prioritise between competing demands;
- Exposure to professional services culture and/or large international organisations would be advantageous but not essential.
The ability to work well in a team environment, coupled with a proactive and solutions-focused attitude will be essential for your success in this role.
