The Firm
A leading specialist insurance law firm with a national presence that supports its staff to achieve to the best of their ability.
The Role
Can you assess liability and quantum of a claim for insurance? Can you draft pleadings for a defence? Do you have the ability to turn over claims quickly in a short period of time? Working under 2 Partners of different sections, you will be defending insurance claims 50% of the time and gathering evidence to quickly assess plaintiff claims the rest of the time. This is a different role with a lot of support to assist in the quick evaluation of the claims.
Duties
- Both advisory and litigation work
- Manage files independently while working within a team environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Draft legal documents concisely and effectively
- Mentor junior staff
Experience
- 3+ year’s experience in Defendant insurance law in assessing liability and quantum
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- Experience with reviewing and analysing medical evidence
- Ability to manage large volumes of work
- Good business development skills
