Due to increased workload, we are now seeking to add an additional Legal Counsel with six years’ + PAE to the Executive team. Within this group you will find yourself working closely with the Head of Legal and other senior internal members operating within this energy icon.
Whilst we are able to provide a more detailed position description to those applicants who we deem suitable for shortlisting, please note that you must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration:
- Possession of a Bachelor of Law degree;
- Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a solicitor or barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland is an essential requirement;
- Holder of a current Queensland Practising Certificate or eligibility to apply for a Queensland Practising Certificate;
- At least six years relevant legal experience;
- Previous experience in commercial contracts negotiations;
- Demonstrated technical legal skills in areas such as corporate advisory, dispute, employment law, commercial law, administrative law and statutory interpretation;
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to liaise and partner with all levels of an organisation;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes; and
- Presents complex issues, simply and effectively in a professional manner.
You must also be amenable to being accessible at all times should the need arise for the discussion of significant legal issues, as well as possess an Australian driver’s licence and accept that some intra and interstate travel may be required.
