The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Solicitor to make a strong and meaningful contribution as an experienced senior member of a team within the Commercial, Property & Technology Branch. This role will provide high level legal advice and representation for government bodies on various issues, but primarily in relation to contract and commercial law. In addition, this position will assist the Managing Principal Solicitors in supervising and overseeing the work of a team of solicitors, client relationship management, marketing activities and growing the practice.
The Successful Applicant
You are an experienced lawyer with a strong understanding of the principles and practice of contract and commercial law and sound judgment. You have a demonstrated ability to provide effective written and/or oral advice on highly complex and sensitive matters and influence stakeholders.
You will also have:
- demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management, with the ability to develop positive and effective relationships in order to support the branch and its practice areas
- demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis, provide professional leadership, supervision and mentoring to staff
- a strong sense of working collaboratively, and
- a service oriented approach
