Your new role
Reporting to a seasoned and inspiring General Counsel, this unique mid-level role will see you become an integral part of the legal team. Your highly developed commercial nous coupled with your strong legal training will see you support and partner with internal stakeholders.
No two days will be the same as you advise, draft and negotiate on a broad range of commercial contracts; lead property transactions including leasing as well as assist in the implementation of systems and strategies that will ultimately improve your teams legal and risk maturity.
Your skills profile
Just as important as your strong legal knowledge will be your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships. You will get a real enjoyment from working with non-lawyers and be able to simplify legal issues into concepts that can be easily understood.
Your pragmatic and down-to-earth style will also enable you to become a valued business partner whilst also contributing to the development of the company and those it serves.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years legal experience and have a strong commercial approach. In addition, you will ideally have:
- Experience in commercial property law including leasing;
- Exposure to working in-house or on secondment (although not essential);
- Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation;
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven ability to build relationships and work within a multi-stakeholder environment;
- A pragmatic and self-driven approach.
