Our client is a worldwide commodities trader, a true global player in every sense of the word. A very rare opportunity has arisen for a lawyer to join its in-house legal team, working closely with the General Counsel in providing a range of legal advice with a predominant corporate / commercial focus. You will also be involved in compliance, managing a range of issues covering the environment, health and safety, human resources, property and resources. Some exposure to litigation management is also desirable.
As this is a junior / mid-level in-house legal counsel appointment, ideally, we would like to talk to lawyers with 2 - 5 years’ post admission experience working within a top tier or mid-tier law firm who have had a reasonable amount of exposure to front end corporate and / or commercial matters. You may also be currently working in-house however, some law firm experience is desirable.
In addition, those with exemplary drafting, analytical and negotiation skills will be highly regarded, as well as those candidates with a confident manner who are able to work independently and are open to some element of domestic travel from time to time.
