We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Legal department in Sydney to provide in-house legal support for the company's business in Australia and Japan. The role will report to Head Legal Australia.
Role Primary Responsibilities: Day to day legal work supporting the company’s business in Australia and Japan, including:
- Contract review and negotiations;
- Legal advice and support in consultation with the business for new and current clients, business, markets and products;
- Regulatory Analysis and Advice (including Corps Act, ASIC MIRs, Banking and new regulations etc)
- Solving legal conflict;
- Regulatory and legal risk monitoring/management;
- Instructing external counsel;
- Project based work;
- Collateral/Security documentation
- General Legal Advice
The role will require working closely with legal counsel and the business on a global basis, particularly Asia Pacific.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Experience in banking/finance (institutional side) or general commercial required. Five plus years PQE in financial services related work. Clearing and settlement, ASX or securities/derivatives experience viewed favourably.
