About AFCA
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) will commence on 1 November 2018, providing consumers and small businesses with easy access to a single scheme to resolve complaints about products and services provided by financial firms.
AFCA will replace the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO) and the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal (SCT).
About the role
Our new organisation is looking for motivated and committed Case Managers to join our General Insurance dispute team initially commencing on a full time, fixed term contract to 30 June 2020.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your legal and/or industry experience to resolve complex disputes by negotiation, conciliation, investigation and/or assessment. If you enjoy problem solving and delivering quality and fair outcomes to the community, then this is the role for you.
Demonstrated Skills

Extensive experience within legal and/or general insurance industry

Effective time management to ensure that you deal with multiple cases in accordance with our dispute resolution process and timeframes by negotiating and investigating disputes to ensure fair and impartial dispute outcomes

Strong verbal communication skills to allow you to conduct telephone conciliations and facilitate negotiations

The ability to write in plain English, clearly identify issues, assess relevant information and draft a well reasoned decision that is logical and easy to understand

Tertiary qualifications in legal, finance and/or commerce highly valued
