About the role
The Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission is seeking an experienced legal secretary to join our team. The Civil Law Practice provides enhanced access to advice, legal assistance and appropriate referrals to people in the NT in a broad range of civil law matters, including employment law, consumer, credit and debt matters, health (including mental health) matters, administrative law and human rights.
The successful applicant will be required to provide high level, efficient and effective supervision and secretarial/administrative support. Duties include, provision of legal information, assistance and referrals to clients, maintain files, diaries and information technology systems and undertake general administrative duties in a demanding and challenging environment. The position involves assisting clients in person and by telephone.
A contract will be negotiated based on the experience of the successful applicant. The Commission's conditions of employment are similar to those existing in the Northern Territory Public Service.
