As PwC continues the growth of its national legal team and the disruption of the traditional legal market, we are seeking a high performing Senior Associate to support our Corporate, Projects and Private Clients Practices in Perth. Candidates must be admitted as a qualified lawyer in Australia, New Zealand, or the UK.
 
The legal team at PwC Australia provides top-tier legal advice and services as part of a truly integrated multi-disciplinary team.  
 
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Associate for our Corporate, Projects and Private Clients Legal practice, based in Perth.  Our lawyers are expected to bring a deep understanding of today’s legal issues, business opportunities and risks to deliver commercially focused strategic legal advice and services often as part of a broader team.  
 
Lawyers in the team will be involved in a range of corporate and commercial matters including M&A, private equity, capital markets, joint ventures, group restructures, share issues and buy backs, project development and corporate governance work.
 
Some aspects of the role include:
  • Working with our partners and directors in the national legal team and the broader multi-disciplinary practice through day to day management of client work
  • Providing thought leadership on emerging issues
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with other staff members both within the PwC legal practice and more broadly across the other PwC lines of service
  • Effectively supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
 
About you:
  • Be an ambitious lawyer with at least 5-7 years post-qualification relevant experience
  • Have exceptional drafting skills and practice area expertise as well as a commercial mindset and a deep familiarity with the Corporations Act - experience with share issues and buy-backs, capital reductions, group restructures, foreign investment applications and corporate governance will be highly regarded
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Have strong time management skills
  • Be committed to building trust in society and solving the important problems facing our clients and our society
  • Experience in energy & resources or in acting for high net worth individuals would also be beneficial
