We currently have a 12 month full-time contract as a Legal Counsel. This role assists the Senior Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Director, in various legal matters across the ANZ CU, as well as leading and managing the primary day-to-day legal support for certain advertising and marketing, sales, and procurement matters.

You will be:

  • Providing strategic advice on various advertising and marketing matters, intellectual property, consumer and food law matters and advice to customer sales teams
  • Reviewing and revising marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and corporate policies, including TVCs, digital and print media, trade marketing, trade promotions
  • Reviewing all packaging artwork on our online approval portal, WebCentre
  • Drafting and negotiating marketing-related agreements (agency, talent, spokesperson, sponsorship, and promotion agreements)
  • Monitoring and assessing state and federal food regulatory developments and enforcement trends
  • Managing the drafting and negotiation of non-key contracts with the Procurement Team, including supply and purchasing contracts, contract manufacture agreements and indirect supply agreements
  • Drafting and reviewing customer sales agreements
  • Supporting cross-functional business teams with new product development
  • Providing Anti-Bribery, competition, consumer law and other training
  • Managing outside counsel in an efficient and cost-effective basis in conjunction with PepsiCo policies and standards
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Legal qualification (plus higher degree preferred), including current practicing certificate
  • 2-4 years of corporate/commercial law experience, preferably in-house in a multi-national food and beverage company or an FMCG company
  • Experience in intellectual property and consumer law matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to both work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent project management, time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and resourcefulness
  • Highly proactive
