Position Purpose
The Principal Solicitor will provide high quality specialised legal services to Land Use Victoria's divisions of Land Registry Services and Strategic Land Assessment & Information including the Registrar of Titles, the Surveyor-General Victoria and the Valuer-General Victoria.
Accountabilities
The role will involve reviewing, providing advice on, drafting and negotiating a range of contracts and tender processes, including the Concession Deed relating to the commercialisation of services.
In addition, you will be asked to provide advice on highly complex and sensitive land registration, land administration and public law relevant to Land Use Victoria Legal's clients.
Specialist/Technical Expertise
Sound knowledge of contract law and the requirements of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board is necessary, as well as understanding of public and administrative law.
The candidate must be admitted or be eligible for admission as a Barrister or a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
