We are a boutique law practice in Mount Lawley looking for an experienced and pro-active Solicitor.

This is an opportunity for a Solicitor to manage files and service clients at this small busy boutique firm which has recently experienced rapid growth. 

The role will see the successful candidate managing their own file load with opportunities to learn from a great team and progress their own career.  We are a supportive firm that encourages a work-life balance, also, our reputation is very important to us.

The successful candidate will need to be an admitted practitioner, and hold a current practice certificate.  It is essential that the successful candidate has previous experience in the area of family law. Advantageous to be on LAWA panel as Independent Children's Lawyer, however, not essential.

 

Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients in relation to all family law matters, including property settlements, child related matters, child support agreements, financial agreements and same sex/de facto matters.
  • Providing advice in relation to violence restraining orders and care and protection matters.
  • Managing files and advising both private and legally aided clients.
  • Appearing in the Family Court of Western Australia, Magistrates Court of Western Australia and Children's Court of Western Australia.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous legal experience essential. (minimum of 4 years PAE).
  • Experience in family law (essential).
  • Experience in conveyancing/settlements (advantageous).
  • On LAWA panel as Independent Children's Lawyer (preferable).
  • Knowledge of FilePro (desirable).

 

Essential personal attributes include:

  • An ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision, whilst also contributing to a relaxed team environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage file loads effectively and manage competing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Travel will mainly be required for Court attendances, and accordingly, a valid driver's licence and motor vehicle is essential.

 

Remuneration is negotiable, commensurate with experience and capability of the successful candidate.
