PLT Law Graduate / LPAB Student

• Small friendly firm in Parramatta (2 solicitors and 4 support staff)
• Team environment
• Looking to provide the right candidate with a continued position post admission to legal practice
• Mandarin/Cantonese speaking would be a distinct advantage

This is a great opportunity for a self motivated person to broaden their horizons.  You will be working for a well known and established but smaller firm in Parramatta.  We specialise in Conveyancing and Property matters but also practice in other areas including Wills, Estates, Commercial law, Litigation etc.

This is not a short term position and we are hoping to provide the right candidate with a continued position after they are admitted to legal practice.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will be supporting our two partners and other support staff by:

• creating client files
• drafting correspondence
• reviewing contracts and leases
• drafting contracts, leases, wills etc
• handling some small claim debt recovery matters
• undertaking research tasks
• general administrative duties

Skills and experience

The successful applicant should:

• be an LPAB student in final 2 years of study OR be a person with a law degree who is not yet admitted and who needs to complete their PLT.
• have Microsoft Office skills and be proficient in typing
• be well presented and well spoken
• be motivated and enthusiastic
• be able to work in a team environment

Additional skills (an advantage but not required):

• ability to speak Mandarin or Cantonese would be a distinct advantage as one third of our clients have a Chinese background

Full time but flexible in relation to study, lectures and exams if you are still studying.
