Position Purpose

The Solicitor/Senior Solicitor will provide high quality specialist legal services relating to the implementation of electronic conveyancing.

Accountabilities

Working under broad/limited direction, you will contribute to the coordination, implementation and evaluation of the legal framework and legislation required in Victoria to enable and regulate electronic conveyancing.

You will also be asked to provide advice to the Registrar of Titles, Deputy Registrar of Titles, land registry personnel and external customers on the legal aspects of national electronic conveyancing.

In addition, you will be required to examine, research and advise on matters related to the registration of transactions and other dealings under the Transfer of Land Act 1958, the Subdivision Act 1988 and the Water Act 1989.

Specialist/Technical Expertise

Sound knowledge of the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (Victoria), the Transfer of Land Act 1958, the Operating Requirements and Participation Rules for electronic conveyancing and the Registrar's Requirements for paper conveyancing is required.

The candidate must be admitted or be eligible for admission as a Barrister or a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
