This role can be based in any of our Australian offices.
Day to day, you will create value for the EPI practice group and its clients and be responsible for:
- Support EPI in needs identification, creation and maintenance of knowledge and legal learning resources (eg precedents, Know How Guides, training materials), in conjunction with practice group representatives.
- Act as the point of reference for, and conduit between, EPI and the Australian Knowledge team and Learning and Development team.
- Understand and monitor EPI’s overall knowledge and legal learning needs and activities in Australia, through:
o awareness of its structure and relevant areas of legal expertise;
o developing a general awareness of legal and commercial issues impacting EPI’s relevant areas of legal expertise;
o building relationships within EPI through regular interaction with members of the practice group (eg through attendance at practice group meetings); and
o maintaining an overview of knowledge and learning resources and activities within EPI.
- Promote the use of knowledge and learning systems and processes, including liaising with other PSLs in Australia to promote effective flow of knowledge between practice groups.
- Contribute to specific innovative projects that benefit EPI / the broader firm.
Skills & experience
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a continuous improvement focus. You will also have:
- Law degree and relevant practice experience - preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of or experience in Australian employment law obtained in a leading employment law practice
- 4+ years post admission experience in legal practice
- Experience working in a medium or large legal firm
- Understanding and appreciation of the value of legal or professional services knowledge management
