The Company
Our client, who is a top-tier property developer originally from China, has expanded to the Australian market since 2014. With the commitment of long-term development in Australia, the company has established a strong pipeline of more than 10 projects across Melbourne and Sydney.
With a few projects in progress and more projects to be kicked off very soon, our client decides to expand their Legal Affairs team. They are now seeking for a bilingual Legal Counsel Assistant to support and work alongside the Legal Affairs Officer. This is a rare opportunity as you will work across different projects and be receiving invaluable advice for your future career growth within the industry.
The Role
- Providing advice on legal issues and assisting in consultation with internal or external lawyers.
- Negotiating and drafting changes to standard form contracts.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts drafted by parties and assisting project teams to manage contract performance.
- Assisting in the management of high-level corporate compliance and risk profiles including insurance, major contract obligations, statutory obligations and FIRB.
- Assisting in the daily project development activities in general and in the development of training programmes for non-legal staff on relevant legal issues.
- Identifying, escalating and seeking guidance on significant risks.
Your Profile
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Certificate to act as Victorian Legal Practitioner.
- 2+ years of experience in the industry.
- Ability to provide commercially focused legal support.
- Excellent understanding of commercial, property and development principles.
