The company
Our client is a premier law firm who are recognised as leaders across various areas of law. We are currently seeking a Corporate lawyer with (2-5yrs plus PAE) to join their growing Corporate team.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting corporate/commercial legal work on M&A transactions, capital raisings, corporate restructures, regulatory projects and other matters/transactions.
- Supervising, mentoring and quality reviewing the work of Solicitors and Legal Analysts.
- Supporting the Head of Corporate and the Managers to manage the day to day running of matters, including direct contact with internal/external clients.
- Assisting with pricing/fee estimates (at the outset of a matter) and managing costs and billing over the course of that matter.
- Assisting with client proposals, pitches or any other relevant business development initiatives.
To be successful you will have the following:
- Excellent academic background and a sincere desire to make your mark in a premier firm.
- 2+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience, with experience gained at top/mid-tier firms being highly regarded.
- Qualified/admitted to practice in Australia and holding a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
- Detailed understanding of Australian corporate law and strong legal skills, including legal analysis, drafting and negotiation.
- Experience in project managing/leading matters will be highly regarded.
- Experience in managing/supervising more junior solicitors or legal staff
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing).
- Strong analytical ability, coupled with commercial.
- A proactive, positive and energetic approach.
