The Office of General Counsel (OGC) plays an important operational and strategic role within the University; maximising the quality of decision making and mitigating legal risks for the Corporation in the context of the day to day operations of the University. The OGC provides legal advice and services to management and staff across a broad range of legal issues and has an oversight function in terms of the University’s broader strategic activities, informing stakeholders of relevant legal developments.

As Practice Coordinator, you will:

  • provide high level managerial and administrative support to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Legal Counsel
  • coordinate and manage workflow (triaging, scheduling and prioritising legal matters)
  • develop, manage and continuously improve OGC processes and procedures
  • manage and monitor operational and overheads budgets.

You will need to have:

  • a relevant qualification and / or equivalent level of executive management experience
  • exceptional organisational skills and the capacity to make sound prioritisation decisions in a deadline driven environment
  • high level interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • financial and analytical skills including demonstrated ability to manage budgets using Excel spreadsheets.

Total remuneration valued to $101,112 - $109,432 pa, including salary component $85,440- $92,471 pa (Higher Education Worker Level 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
