We are currently seeking an experienced National Product Specialist to join the Private Motor Product team.

The opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the National Product Manager in delivering product profitability and growth effectively and efficiently across all divisions within QBE.

The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but not limited to:

• Support the NPM to develop, deliver and drive an effective and profitable product strategy and monitor and review as required
• Support the NPM in the development of the new product ideas and initiatives together with the business units to meet market needs
• Assist with the maintenance of underwriting guidelines including risk management and risk acceptance criteria
• Monitor Private Motor portfolio, develop and implement changes to pricing and distribution as required to maintain profitability and growth.
• Oversee the system managed underwriting controls, rules and efficiencies
• Assist with PDS re-writes and ensure distribution of policy wordings is sufficient to meet demand.
• Develop networks and relationships both internally and with intermediaries to ensure products are delivered seamlessly to markets
• Assist in the development of products meet user/ business expectations and projects are run according to corporate project methodology and standards
• Assist in the review of portfolio results and individual product performance, identify trends and opportunities, and take corrective actions as necessary
• Assist with ensuring adequate pricing, underwriting and governance standards are adhered to as required

• A high level of exposure to and strong understanding of Private Motor insurance
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Strong business and legal acumen
• Good understanding of structures supporting Product Disclosure Statements
• Broad knowledge of risk management, portfolio management and underwriting
• Experience in a technical product role
• Experience in building cross functional relationships
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
