The Opportunity
Our client is a well known innovative University with a premier reputation and supportive community.
This position is part of the Risk & Compliance team which has 4 people and is lead by the The Director who is an amazing leader who join the University a few years ago after coming from a leadership role with a Big 4 Accounting firm.
As a Risk & Compliance Advisor to the University you will have the opportunity to work within this team and be part of the leadership group within this University.
You will be responsible for:
- Adding to the design, development and maintenance of a Legislative and Regulatory Compliance Framework, consistent with University policy;
- Providing proactive, professional support and guidance about risk and risk mitigation to management;
- Design and implement highly proactive support, education and training that build staff awareness of risk mitigation and management, legal compliance and critical incident/emergency management (i.e for OH&S);
- Preparing reports for senior management and governance committees; and
- Act as the Child Safety Officer for child safety compliance matters and compliance program (as there is a child care centre on the grounds of the University).
This University seeks to appoint an exceptional Risk & Compliance lawyer who will contribute to the continuous success and prestigious reputation of this University.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have
- 4 years experience in Risk management and Compliance;
- Have demonstrated experience in compliance assessment and risk methodologies and work processes;
- The ability to deliver workshops and educate senior stakeholders;
- Any knowledge or experience in the tertiary education sector will be highly regarded however not essential;
- Any experience using SAP or other major software will be highly regarded however not essential.
