The role

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will provide actuarial, analytical and technical support to the Actuary-Life Capital Modelling with respect to the company’s risk based capital (RBC) modelling, capital strategy, asset liability management (ALM) reporting and other solvency and profitability reports.

Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

• RBC modelling:
  • Data/inputs preparation, validation and analysis, including the use of Economic Scenario Generator (ESG), Insurance Scenario Generator (ISG) etc.
  • Setting and review of assumptions, parameters, and model calculation;
  • Reasonability check and result validation;
  • Result presentation;
  • Documentation of the modelling processes
• RBC model development:
  • Carry out model development to further enhance model accuracy, efficiency and capability;
  • Documentation of model changes;
  • Comply with the model change governance framework
• Capital strategy: make recommendations on the target capital levels and trigger points in line with the risk appetite for the management
• ALM reporting: provide valuable insights on the asset liability management strategy
• Other solvency and profitability reports:
  • Facilitate the formulation of the investment strategy;
  • Monitor of risk profile movements;
  • Ad-hoc projects relating to reinsurance and other strategic management initiatives

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, skills and qualifications:

• Experience working as an Actuarial Analyst in a capital modelling or valuations role in life insurance in a developed market 
• A relevant degree in Actuarial Studies, Statistics, Commerce or related field
• Studying towards Fellowship of the Actuaries Institute of Australia or equivalent international body
• Experience of actuarial modelling and Prophet (actuarial modelling system)
• Experience in programming e.g. SAS, R, SQL, Python, C++
• Knowledge of stochastic modelling
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Work as a team member and communicate effectively (oral & written)
