The company
This leading National Insurer within a niche market is currently undergoing rapid growth and expansions. Their vision is to be the leading provider of insurance solutions to their clients and provide unrivalled service in their market.
The role
Due to the internal promotion of one of their underwriters, they currently have a vacancy within their underwriting team. Specialising within construction with a blue chip client base, this is an outstanding opportunity for a keen and eager underwriter with approximately 2 - 3 years experience to further advance their career within a team environment that invests in professional training and development and actively promotes from within. Likewise they are also open to considering experienced assistant underwriters looking to progress to an underwriter position.
Responsibilities
- Underwriting risks within construction, plant and machinery and heavy motor
- Analysing risks
- Liaising with brokers, insurers and clients, developing strong relationships
- Processing of endorsements, new business quotes and renewals
- General administration
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years experience as an underwriter or 5 years as an assistant underwriter. Whilst experience within construction and plant is highly desirable, candidates with backgrounds within motor vehicle are also encouraged to apply. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position and an ability to develop rapport and build relationships will see you truly thrive in this role where there is plenty of scope for professional development.
