Your contribution at AIG
As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Property, you will underwrite a profitable portfolio of Property business within corporate underwriting guidelines and within granted underwriting authority.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Lead the Property underwriting portfolio for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania
- To manage all aspects of Commercial Property business, including underwriting and business development, renewal retention strategy, administration services, budgeting, marketing, compliance and legal obligations for business generated from Australia within delegated underwriting authority
- Achieve agreed production targets by adhering to established strategic marketing objectives and action plans
- Increase AIG market share through development, new distributions and improved relationships with key producers, clients and industry groups
- Development of new distribution channels, establish and grow relationships within Middle Market Producers, Clients, Industry Groups and Reinsurers
What we are looking for
- A seasoned leader within Property, with a strong track record in underwriting, primarily focused on Commercial Property ISR business, across both ASX Top 250 and Middle Market sectors
- A track record of solid relationships with major international brokers
- Proven ability to lead a small team whilst operating within a National team set up, working in a dynamic and interactive business environment, handling a large volume of renewal accounts, as well as sourcing new business opportunities
