Life Claims Stakeholder, Risk and Initiatives Specialist

The Role:

This role is accountable to actively engage with, understand and advise on programs of activity for all aligned Regulators, Financial bodies and Re-insurance partners as applicable. A principle focus will be to have a detailed knowledge of the Life Code of Practice and to co-ordinate and manage any ASIC.APRA or LCC requests from the Life Claims area into the wider Personal Injury Claims team and the group.

A principle focus will be to manage and co-ordinate any internal and external audits that relate to Life Claims along with the Life Claims and wider PIC management teams.

Through maintaining strong internal and external relationships, the role aims to contribute towards delivering seamless and efficient experiences for our customers across the claims lifecycle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, communicate and manage policies and procedures that will enable focus, ownership and build strong relationships with all claims stakeholders- with a particular focus on our LICOP commitments and compliance.
  • Responsible for contributing to results, innovation and compliance in the department through managing expectations and accountabilities of stakeholders who interact with claims.
  • Provide guidance and/or analytical support for special projects to ensure a ‘world class’ experience
  • Summarise feedback, identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements based on feedback and interactions with all stakeholders
  • Manage the claims IRIIS and Adfinitis databases and ensure Life Claims is compliant through assisting team leaders identify, manage and resolve risks.
  • Work with Team Leaders and Technical Lead to ensure LICOP principles are trained and embedded into the practice and procedures of Life claims.

Skills & Experience :

  • Significant Life Claims or Life insurance experience – minimum 7-10 years.
  • Demonstrated Life Insurance and Regulatory knowledge.
  • Highly advanced conceptual thinking with an ability to identify interdependencies among system elements that impact performance.
  • Advanced organisational, analytical and practical skillset.
  • Highly advanced communication skills with strong ability to convey, receive, and accurately interpret information.
  • Highly advanced influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Facilitation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
