Summary

The Fraud Awareness Advisor collaborates with key stakeholders, developing and implementing fraud prevention and detection strategies and tactics, including education/training and developing internal promotional material to:

  • Assist with the implementation and/or training of approved key initiatives.
  • Raise awareness of the cost and consequences of insurance fraud.

Empower stakeholders to detect potential fraudulent activity or control weaknesses and refer it to Fraud and Intelligence for appropriate action; increasing the number and improve the quality of manual fraud referrals from stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting with the implementation and/or training of approved key initiatives.
  • Raise awareness of the cost and consequences of insurance fraud.
  • Empower stakeholders to detect potential fraudulent activity or control weaknesses and refer it to Fraud and Intelligence for appropriate action; increasing the number and improve the quality of manual fraud referrals from stakeholders
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing cognitive fraud detection.
  • Establish sound working relationships across the Business, and act as the central point of contact for claims & assessing inquiries related to Investigations.
  • Actively promote awareness of the activities of Fraud and Intelligence teams across all brands and lines of business, and work proactively to improve the quality of manual referrals.
  • Assist and advise the Senior Investigation Service Advisor on training opportunities regarding fraud awareness to our external supply panel.
  • Develop training strategies to meet existing short term and long term customer needs (Fraud Education).
  • Design and implementation of training and education programs including:
    • Identifying training opportunities within the Personal Injury insurance business;
    • Developing, planning, delivering and coordinating fraud education and awareness training packages (including on-line components);
    • Reporting on and measuring the success of the training and education session(s) and tools

Skills & Experience

  • Investigative related studies i.e. Criminology, business, or law degree (Desired)
  • Approved Qualifications in an investigation related discipline (Desired)
  • Tertiary qualifications in a training discipline or Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. (Desired)
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in Insurance related industry (Desired)
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and facilitating training programs
  • Experience within a Personal Injury Insurance environment e.g. operations, product management, claims, distribution is desirable
  • Experience within change management
