The Role

This role will lead, develop and execute on retention activities across all the life risk products, in line with Personal Injury Portfolio & Pricing (PIPP) & our customer strategy. This includes optimisation of existing customer experiences & processes, facilitating proactive/reactive retention strategies, all of which contribute to improving customer value and ROE of the Life business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a network of ongoing & ad-hoc reporting to ensure an understanding of current and emerging retention ‘pain points,’ providing logical support for the prioritised program of work developed to address these.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on retention anomalies to determine underlying causes for these problems, and prioritise and deliver improvement projects designed to address these.
  • Maintain close relationships with insurance finance and corporate actuarial to demonstrate the impact of business activities on financial outcomes.
  • Work with Customer Marketplace to develop strategies to effectively manage retention and deliver retention solutions for Life products and other customer product holdings.
  • Maintain awareness of current industry and market trends (to ensure, where appropriate, problems are solved creatively and innovatively or through emerging market opportunities.
  • Leverage customer insight and research to inform decision making.
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis and business cases for marketing and customer communication campaign activity.
  • Craft and evaluate rationale for senior decision makers involving opportunities associated with retention or customer engagement.
  • Work closely with business and technical delivery teams to deliver benefits.
  • Maintain product compliance through constantly changing regulatory / legislative changes.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree in Business, Commerce or related field
  • Extensive experience within financial services, preferably in Life Insurance
  • Demonstrated experience in retention management
  • Strong knowledge of finance with the ability to interpret and analyse reports and synthesise data driven insights
