The Suncorp Group is one of Australia's leading insurers.  We currently have a position available for a trade qualified Property Assessor to support our Insurance business which includes household names such as AAMI, APIA, GIO, Shannon's and Suncorp Insurance.

Training and support will be provided along with a tool of trade. 

Responsibilities

  • Onsite and desktop assessments, including the negotiation and settlement of claims for our Property customers
  • Ensuring accurate determination and application of policy liability
  • Maintaining timely, effective and proactive communication with customers throughout the life of the claim
  • Determining appropriate methods of settlement to reduce average claims cost and to reduce claim life
  • Providing technical support to our partner teams
  • Actively seek out opportunities to improve business processes

Desired skills & experience

  • Advanced knowledge of domestic building insurance claim principles (3-5 years desirable)
  • Experience in preparing scopes and cost
  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to interpret policies and to determine the correct policy response
  • Advanced written, verbal communication and active listening skills
