We are currently seeking a Reinsurance Technician to join our team in Sydney. Reporting to the Regional Head of Facultative, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the production of slips and reinsurance documentation in support of the broader facultative reinsurance team. In a full time capacity, core capabilities include a sound insurance background with a very strong focus on attention to detail and technical knowledge on slip production across all classes of business. The ability to interact well and form part of a broader successful existing team, whilst taking ownership for the successful operation of back-office functions including compliance.
The Role:
- Responsible for preparation of quote and placing slips across all classes of business
- Creation of formal quotation documentation compliant with internal guidelines and practices
- Creation of formal evidence of cover documentation
- Notification of mid-term adjustments to re-insurers
- Liaise with Placing Brokers to ensure adherence to compliance standards
- Interaction with accounts regarding payments and credit control
- Develop relationships with cedent technical and accounts departments
- General office administration duties
The Requirements:
- Proven insurance experience
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to produce technically accurate documentation
- Sound oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in relating and applying internal compliance disciplines
- Proactive and diligent approach to all tasks
- Willingness to broaden product knowledge
- Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office & Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and general willingness to learn and grow within a global market leader
