About the role

  • Maintain claims communications ensuring that all incoming mail, faxes, emails and tasks are scanned and actioned within defined service levels.
  • Creating tasks in accordance with claims procedures.
  • Ensuring the department does not incur any breaches or errors.
  • Completing daily task including assisting with Adhoc requests for documents within agreed timeframes.
  • Identifying any issues or concerns and reporting to relevant stakeholders including management, IT and/or Production Support.
  • Adhere to our approved policies and guidelines and provide insights to enable us to continuously improve and assess our processes, systems and procedures.
  • Recommend any initiatives that will improve business performance and or customer service delivery.
  • Process claims and provide ongoing claims acceptance decisions and advice on product coverage as per policies and procedures.
  • Management and proactive maintenance of outstanding claim reserves at every claim interaction to ensure the accuracy of the claim reserves.
  • Identify potential fraudulent claims and follow agreed policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure that customers and suppliers/service providers are contacted in a prompt, courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Resolve complaints from clients, suppliers or services providers and from within The Hollard Group within agreed service levels.
  • Ensure all incoming calls are attended to and messages are returned within defined service levels.
  • Authorise claim files within the approved delegated authority of the position and refer files outside of this authority to their Leader.
  • Ensure that claims are processed in accordance with policy guidelines, company procedures, approved suppliers and industry laws and guidelines.
  • Adhere to rosters actively contribute to achieving team, department and company targets and budgets.
  • Individual adherence to compliance standards, and successfully complete training as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant industry experience desirable.
  • Ability to interpret company policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Understand the end to end claims process (desirable).
  • Computer literate with competencies in Microsoft product offerings and basic experience in working in mainframe or computer systems or software.
  • Ability to interpret company policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial to achieving productive, efficient and cost-effective processing.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills (both verbal and in writing).
