The Role
This is a full time permanent position working out of our Sutherland office. The role is to provide on-going advice, guidance and face to face and phone contact with existing clients. It is the responsibility of the senior planner to manage this ongoing relationship with the client in a professional and ethical manner to assist clients make their financial decisions. Additionally, the senior planner is to identify and source potential new clients and convert leads into on-going clients through the provision of quality financial planning advice and expert relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and conduct interviews and reviews for prospects and existing clients.
- Provide technically competent financial planning advice that matches individual client needs.
- Keep up to date with financial planning products and services and with financial market trends.
- Build, train and maintain relationships with external referral sources.
- Achieve agreed targets with respect to funds under management, fees generated, creation of new clients and retention of existing clients.
Secondary responsibilities
- Respond to and address client queries promptly, accurately and courteously.
- Maintain a watching brief on client history and activity and understand their needs and objectives
- Identify opportunities for seminars, product campaigns, sponsorship and other promotional activities to leverage business generation activities.
- Build external networks as a source of referral business
Qualifications required
- ADFP or approved equivalent
- CFP accreditation would be highly regarded
- Full compliance with CPD training requirements and ASIC standards
Experience and skills required
- Minimum 3 years experience as a financial planner
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
- Ability to self manage and work autonomously
- High attention to detail
- Display professional and a strong work ethic
