The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Public Liability Claims Officer to join our Long Tail Claims team in NSW on a permanent full-time basis. The role will see you proactively manage a portfolio of Long Tail Liability claims ensuring that quality customer service is provided.

The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but not limited to:
- Accurate completion and validation of claims
- Interaction in a professional manner with third parties
- Efficient management of the claims process
- Initiation and completion of any recoveries from third parties
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards
- Self audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits
- Establish and maintain good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public
- Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within Privacy guidelines
As the successful candidate you have:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in Public Liability experience - junior to mid level individuals encouraged to apply
- Sound technical understanding and ability to manage a diversified portfolio of bodily injury, property damage and product liability claims
- Understanding of underwriting procedures for a diversified liability portfolio and a proven ability to understand and interpret relevant policy wordings
- Ability to engage, instruct and work with relevant providers including loss adjusters, lawyers and consultants
- An understanding of, and demonstrable application of, the General Insurance Code of Practice
- Ability to interpret technical / investigation reports to make sound business decisions
- Ability to participate in alternative dispute resolution
