We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fraud Investigator to join the Claims Fraud team in Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis.

As a Senior Investigator you will be responsible for managing the investigative process for a portfolio of investigated claims, coordinating daily workloads with external investigators and provide SME advice in the investigations of suspected fraudulent claims primarily in the General Insurance portfolio.

The opportunity

This role will support the National Investigations Manager deliver the internal investigative expertise to reduce our exposure to fraud and other non-genuine claims across various insurance portfolios.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will have responsibility for managing complex fraud claims as required. This role will support the Investigations Managers within the Investigations and Claims Support Team (ICST) deliver the internal investigative expertise to  reduce QBE’s exposure to fraud and other non-genuine claims across motor and property portfolios
  • Analyse suspected fraudulent and other non-genuine claim motor and property claims
  • Develop investigative strategies including surveillance techniques and other appropriate strategies
  • Allocate and prioritize daily workloads for investigated claims
  • Managing the external investigation process associated with suspected non genuine claims
  • Conducting desktop investigations on suspected non genuine claims in accordance with the GI Code of Practice and industry best practice
  • Instructing and managing external investigative service providers to ensure effective cost efficient services are provided
  • Preparation of clear and concise evidence matrix reports for claims to determine liability
  • Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve fraud analysis and procedures

What does success look like?

  • You will have a number of years’ experience in managing investigations in a corporate environment, preferably insurance/ financial services, however we are open to other industries as well.
  • You will have experience in detecting fraud/using fraud indicators and demonstrate experience using fraud detection systems
  • Extensive claims expertise and or dispute resolution experience in GI
  • Experience in General Insurance Claims Investigations is highly desirable for this role
