Do work that matters
In this fixed-term contract role you’ll support our processes, methodologies and systems in order to provide a sustainable and continuously improving service to our partners, customers and internal stakeholders. Initially focused on supporting Products and Risk & Controls in identifying and quantifying the impact of potential issues raised and to support any flow on remediation work, you’ll liaise with various stakeholders to understand the issues and develop methodology for impact assessment. In a snapshot:
- Support LPD Products and Risk & Control in identifying and quantifying the impact of potential issues raised and to support any flow on remediation work
- Support LPD Products in developing a strategic, ongoing analytics platform
- Assist CommInsure Life Products with the information and level of understanding needed to drive its business results in order to achieve its targets
- Support our processes, methodologies, systems in order to provide a sustainable and continuously improving service to our partners, customers and internal stakeholders.

CommInsure is a division of Wealth Management offering a range of life insurance, superannuation, retirement income, investment and general insurance products. CommInsure conducts business through a number of legal entities including: Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited and Colonial Insurance Limited.
Pricing & Analytics is the function within the Life Product & Distribution (LPD) responsible for the pricing of life insurance products and providing analytics support to the wider Life Product & Distribution team in general.
The analytics function focuses on analytics support for various areas including Risk and Controls, Pricing, Product and Strategy, Business Delivery across all lines of life insurance business (i.e. Wholesale, Retail Advice and Direct Life).
On any given day you will
- Provide analytic support to our Products & Strategy, Risk & Control, Pricing and Business Delivery teams.
- Analysis requirements are primarily from Teradata data sources, with additional sources for online analytics.
- Work closely with the Product and Risk managers to support the risk and compliance requirements for all life insurance business.
- Work closely with our Pricing Actuaries to support the pricing requirements for all life insurance business.
- Support the investigation of advanced analytic techniques for all aspects of CommInsure Life Products.
- Assist in driving innovation in the Pricing space by supporting the pricing actuaries across the LOB with the application of advanced analytics techniques.
- Prepare reporting for Life product teams as required to support the business strategy

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess
- Extensive SQL experience (preferably Teradata)
- Knowledge of GDW Loan and Credit Card data (preferable)
- Experience in remediation projects (preferable)
- Knowledge of insurance/financial service products
- Sound business analysis skills
- Tableau (or similar)
- Tertiary qualification in Statistics or Business Analytics or Risk Management
