THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Tail Team Leader in Melbourne Metro office, the main purpose of this role is to provide timely and personal service to the injured workers and their employers. This role will focus on the proactive support through the recovery and return to work process by managing all aspects of a portfolio of worker’s compensation claims within the Victorian legislation and compliance.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide workers compensation advice to stakeholders such as workers, employers and providers
  • Undertake ongoing entitlement reviews in relation to weekly payments and medical expenses
  • Collaborate with treaters and other technical and support experts
  • Facilitate active participation of the injured worker and their employer in any return to work and recovery planning
  • Pro-actively manage rehabilitation providers and approval of rehabilitation plans
  • Pro-actively proceed with appropriate case management to achieve the optimum outcome of early sustainable return to work for workers with reasonable claim costs

 

ABOUT YOU 

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and knowledge working in the insurance/workers compensation industry and be expert in your field along with the following:

  • Prior experience in claims management extremely advantageous
  • Knowledge and previous experience working with the relevant Victorian worker’s compensation legislation and regulations.
  • Customer Service and/or Office experience
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to be empathetic
  • Ability to earn trust in relationships with others by consistently demonstrating integrity and professional competence
  • Effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
  • Competent in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Strong effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant worker’s compensation legislation and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
