A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for a prestigious insurer that has an excellent reputation across the Sydney market.
Due to a strong growth period, they are seeking a motivated Assistant Underwriter / Junior Underwriter to join their dynamic underwriting team.
The Role:
The role will involve assisting a team of 5 property underwriters with their diverse commercial portfolios of business. There is a clear progression pathway in place to kickstart your underwriting career and within time you will be trained up to manage your own portfolio of business.
Your responsibilities will involve:
- Assisting a team of underwriters with new business and renewal quotations
- Attending to broker requests and enquires
- Run the administration of the team including processing
- Ensuring risk information is up to date on the databases
- Liaising with the claims team on a regular basis
- Providing ad-hoc support to the underwriting role
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skillset:
- Strong customer focus - insurance experience is not essential however a track record in customer service is required
- Some experience within broking / underwriting / claims administration is desirable
- High desire to learn
- Great attitude
- Well presented and professional approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Quick learner
- A strong team player - someone who understands the importance of team work
- Sound administrative skills
- Enthusiastic
