About the Role
An opportunity has become available for an Underwriter, Professional Risks to join our Underwriting, Professional Risks team. In this role, you will determine the acceptability, conditions and pricing of routine insurance risks. This includes agreeing on coverage within business strategy risk appetite, regulatory requirements, product offerings and designated authority level.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply underwriting strategy with respect to target markets and accounts in area of responsibility
- Underwrite routine insurance risks, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards
- Liaise with Account Management and Business Development teams in support of account management and procurement
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders by handling a range of queries and providing advice within service level agreements
- Maintain industry knowledge relevant to the area of responsibility
Skills & Experience
- Strong practical experience in General Insurance, particularly Professional Risks
- Experience in an underwriting role
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner
- Insurance qualification (ANZIIF Cert IV in Financial Services) or in the process of working towards
- Proven ability to engage broadly and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, operating with a strong strategic mindset and customer focus
