The Role

The Junior Short Tail Claims Adjuster is responsible for data entry onto relevant systems, producing claims history as requested by underwriters, policy documentation, office correspondence and assisting with managing electronic communications between service providers, brokers, insured’s and interested 3rd parties. 

 

Reporting directly to the National Head of Claims, key responsibilities of this role include:-

  • Management of short tail claims under the direction of the National Head of Claims or delegate
  • Claims reception
  • Process new claims/notifications on Graile 
  • Instruction Panel service providers on under the direction of Claim Adjusters
  • Managing the offline claims reports under the direction of the Claim Adjusters
  • Completing outstanding reminders and peer reviews on direction from Claim Adjusters
  • Produce policy documents (policy docs, endorsement schedules) and generate claims histories
  • Enter payments on the claims system after sign off by Claims Adjuster
  • Produce reports from the system and assist with report preparation
  • General administration duties as requested

The candidate

Essential

  • Previous Administration and/or Operations experience
  • Medium to high level of competency in Microsoft Powerpoint & Excel
  • Well-developed written communication and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of acting within authority, guidelines policies and procedures set by an organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder service skills and problem solving skills

Desirable

  • Experience in an insurance claims department or legal experience highly regarded
