Purpose of role

As a Case Manager you are responsible for processing claims across a range of functions, including Death, Total Permanent Disability (TPD), and Income Protection (IP). You are to provide an exceptional service to all involved, internally and externally and ensuring all claims are completed within a timely manner with 100% accuracy.

 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Manage your own portfolio of claims
  • End to end claim management - full ownership and accountability!
  • Investigate each claim and respond to claimant appropriately
  • Build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally - Go above and beyond for members/claimant and ensure you fully understand the their circumstances, issues, needs and expectations
  • Prepare Claims submissions and or other documentation required
  • Liaise with insurers and third parties to finalise additional insurance coverage as requested by members 
  • Proactively follow up receipt of claim documentation and, as required, provide quality advice and assistance in the completion of documentation
  • Advising members by phone of additional/outstanding requirements 
  • Confirming with members by phone the receipt of important correspondence
  • Advise members progress of Claim Forms and Medical Statements 
  • Generate creative solutions to address problems and commit to follow through  
  • Ensure all legislative requirements and guidelines are followed at all times

 

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in Case Manager or similar role
  • Strong Insurance technical knowledge either claims or underwriting across Death, TPD and IP claims 
  • Excellent communication skills ? written and verbal correspondence
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service
  • Good problem solving abilities and technical expertise
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective team player
  • Tertiary qualifications in related field
  • RG146 / ASFA qualifications desirable
  • Good understanding of relevant Superannuation legislation and industry knowledge
